REMOVE 1980 200/250 Cylinder Head

Well-known member
Bought this for my 66 last month but have decided to hold off on any major modifications for now. The cylinder head is completely disassembled and cleaned up. They claim it is cracked on the side of the carb mount but I don't see it. Would prefer not to ship due to weight, I am located in Harvest, AL. Asking $350 OBO

This is the only picture I have currently but I will get a picture of the "crack" tonight.

Sorry, I'm not interested in buying your head. But I am curious. Does this head have the "hex-log" intake manifold? I've never seen a hex log head before, just the flat top ones. It may have more internal volume, but doesn't look like it would be as easy to machine a flat place for a two barrel carb mount. But what do I know! Has anyone around here modified both types? Which was better?

Yes, it is a hex head, it is the best smaller port large log, they made the ports lower and smaller about 74, may be as good as the larger high port head because of the plenum volume. The DO 170 small chamber large log high port is probably the best for NA.
Yes 2 barrel has been done some with problems, key is to not center it and move forward some I think that the problems stem from using AL. and to thin, I think that the Al. expands more and flexes too much., if it where thicker may work better. Thicker steel would my choice, but it is harder to work with. The adapter has to be made for this. The flat top is easier to do. Most problems come from milling the head at carb angle and not milling for the thickest material to be left, put angle in adapter that is why you have to start with thick material, by the time you get the angle one side is to thin.
