This solves getting a 14" diameter 2" drop air cleaner over a shaved non choked 350 or 500 cfm Holley 2-bbl into a tight 69-70 or Fox Body. Most hood to rocker cover clearances cant exceed 4.5 inches, or the carb and lid will go through the hood. The common drop bases are 0.2" below the flange, sometime 0.75" in excpetional cases. This is 2" of drop base, good enough to make space for a 2, 3 or even 4" stacked 14" air cleaner is most instillations.

250 cube I6 Holley 2-bbl set ups are often more than just 1.661" taller than the stock 1-bbl 200 engine based on the 9.469 verses 7.808" block deck difference, the Holley 2-bbl is very hard to package engine height wise, but this carb base lookes like it ticks all the right boxes!

For those of us who have found that the direct mount 2-bbl has some costly machining matters, this kit allows a nice tall powerband and Ken Van Accolyen style adaptor to hook up a big Holley 2-bbl to a later large log. And at least cover one carb

This still needs a few extra cubic dollars of time and parts:-
1.About 1.5" to 1.75" shaved off the choke air horn, like some of the old 650 cfm 2-bbls

2. A Lokar throttle cable and kickdown, and
3. A special air craft throttle enrichment barrel valve

to make up for taking the whole auto choke and choke horn off for freezing cold engine start, but its well on the way to making this tall old 250 thing pacakge under any compact X shell or Fox body hood. Studies on side and downdraft Weber carbs show that in situations where the air cleaner is surrounding the circle of the carb, a nice flat air cleaner lid can control fuel stand off, and improve peak cfm if the lid is no closer than 1/8" to a flat air horn. Just thought I'd tell you...
