Knock sensor

Front US passenger side head bolt by the water pump. The Australian 1986 Alloy Head II carb and EFi has a 0.875 inch taller bolt that fits the E6 Bosch knock sensor. Its tuned into the resonant frequency of engine detonation, based on the formula

In terms of bore, the knock frequency can be greatly influenced.
Approximated using :

900/(Pi * r) where r = the radius of the bore in Sillymeters, um, millimeters.

Given a bore of 76mm the knock frequency will be 7540 Hz.

A bore of 3.700" or 93.98 mm, the knock frequency will be 6100 Hz

A fat bore Chevy or Ford with 4.00" bore, its down to 5600 Hz, with the very smooth combustion of a wedge head dragging its audiability down to a 5200 Hz threashold.

What I did was weld together a knock senser sized nut to a head stud sized nut, there was enough stud threads protruding past the head stud nut that everything tightened down tight.

Not at this time, but when I do, I am going to be a picture posting fool. Just imagine two nuts lined up on top of each other and welded together with the holes centered. I used a smaller bolt to hold them together while I tig them, just don't overdo the weld and mess up the threads.
