The Autolite 1100 carb on a '68 200 engine I'm working on may or may not be the original/correct carb for that engine. It is a non-SCV 1100 carb. It has one drilled hole of approx. 1/16" dia. through the forward portion of the throttle plate. Is this hole something that Autolite put into '68 and/or later 1100 carbs when new, or is it something a previous owner may have added?
Thanks for the help!

The ideal position of the throttle plate at idle is 1/3rd on the transition slot. If the throttle plate is higher a .060 hole can be drilled in the plate to allow more air at idle & it will allow the plate to return to the desired 1/3rd position on the transfer slot.
