All Small Six 95 300 i6

Ok so this is my first true build by myself it's a 95 300 i6 fuel injection from factory it was bored .40 over I put 268 comp cam lifters spring and new cam and crank gears I did the break in for the cam letting it just idel up to Operating temperature shutting it off just did that a few time everything was going good then outta no where the lifter started really ticking away I had stock pushrods stock rockers and the rockers where set to 25 foot pound what did I do wrong go easy on me thus has been fun but now I am stressing cause this is a lot of money to just go down the drain some one please help
