Was it sensitive to the type of friction material on the disc?

I do not think so.
It was a sintered iron insert.
I used it with a Weber clutch and a Liberty clutchless 4-speed.
then
I used it with a Hayes 3-paddle disc made of sintered bronze and a slider clutch and a Clutch-flite.
